Vacation "dog style"

It all began with my email to our wonderful friends Susan and Doug from New York - the owners of our Drugi (Loyd´s son) and Bogi (their first swissy). I send them some photos of our new cavalier puppy Neli. They suprisingly answered that also their son Gregg (who lives with his family in Florida) is searching for a good litter of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They wanted a healthy and beauiful male puppy to join their family.

And so it began. They decided that they want a brother of our Neli, because they were convinced that I carefully checked health background and lines. At this point I need to say thanks to the breeders Zvonka and Stanko Jalovec, because they were willing to give them the first choise and because they were willing to send a puppy so far. Besides this they were always available for all the questions and dilemmas. 

So in the middle of August me and my boyfriend Igor flew with a new little puppy named Goofy Nella´s Cavaliers to New York in order to bring him to Gregg and his family.

Our journey began at the airport Zagreb, continued in Amsterdam and after 18 hours finished at JFK airport in New York where Susan and Doug already waited for us. Goofy (later renamed to Winston) was really a good boy and everyone admired him.   

I was so excited to see their swissies Bogi and Drugi after almost 3 years. I was not surprised that they both are already american champions in beauty since they are realy eye-catching swissies. They are very well trained by ex-associate of Cesar Millan, that is why they are so obedient. We also met their nanny who take care of him when Susan and Doug leave for several hours.

Since we have been there Bogi (Ch. Alf Rajhenburški) became father of 9 beautiful puppies. And so we went - to see a few days old puppies and visit the Matterhorn kennel. 13 adult swissies barked at us and I felt like in heaven :-) Thanks so much to Laurie who allowed us to see so small puppies and to show us her beautiful dogs! They are so good trained, really a balanced pack of swissies! Laurie is not attending just dog shows with them, she is also competing in herding (has its own sheeps), attending pulling contests etc. I was thrilled with american attitude toward dogs!

Me and Igor also had some sightseeing there. Besides Long Island we saw the whole Manhattan and later we also travelled to Washington and Philadelphia.  

But the best part of our trip was a football game (Jets vs. Giants) at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey. We have been Susan and Doug´s guests there. 

We don´t know how to say thanks to Susan and Doug for everything what they did for us, for accomodation, delicious food, sightseeing, advises, taxi, football ticets, all gifts and unforgettable experience! THANK YOU GUYS!
