ABOUT
US |
|
We’ve
always had dogs in our family, mostly German Shepherds. After our
14-year-old dog Kala died we had great difficulties in making the
decision for a new dog. In December 2002, after some careful
consideration, we’ve decided for our first Greater Swiss Mountain
Dog – a puppy named Brina. She slowly began to write the history of
our kennel.

In our
family all members take care of the dogs and the breeding. We believe
that the right breeding cannot be handled by a single man. Since we
believe that it is important that dogs are well socialized, trained
and obedient, we
normally
don´t have more than two dogs living in our kennel at
the same time. This is the only way that each of the dogs gets enough
attention. It is for this reason we are only co-owners of a few dogs
(on paper they are still a little bit ours, but the attention and a
warm home is provided by their real owners). Our female dogs have in
their lives an average of 2-3 litters. There’s always at least a one year pause between the
consecutive litters or two years or more if female had problems while
whelping before. Dogs used for breeding are screened for all
typical diseases of the breed.
During
that time we bred some high quality puppies, some multi champions,
multi europe vice champions, european junior champion and vice world
champion in beauty. We have puppies only occasionally and mating
combinations are always carefully selected. Distance of the right stud
dog is not important. We strive for superior care and maximal
socialization of puppies. All pups are sold with contract of sale. New
owners obligate to check hips, elbows and shoulders to puppy and not
to produce non-pedigree dogs. This is the only way to protect the
breed. We wish to keep contact to all new owners. We are available to
them 24 hours daily.

GOALS
The
goals of breeding Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs are striving towards the
following objectives:
1. Health
2. Character
3. Beauty
We
are trying to reduce OCD disease
to the breed and striving for an obligatory review of all typical
breed diseases. We want to breed character stable, non-agressive and
well-socialized puppies. We would like to approximate the ideals
of the breed to the FCI Standards for Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs.
